It was decided by the Helping Africa Foundation that the 9th Lab would be located in the town of Bomaa in the Ahafo Region for two reasons, first there was a logical progression for locating the centers in a south to north progression, and second, Japhet Aryiku, the Executive Director of the Helping Africa Foundation had a friend who lived in New York and also had a home in the town of Bomaa who agreed to be the Promoter for the project.
As usual, the IMPLEMENTERS and TECHAiDE teams conducted a needs assessment to determine the feasibility of the proposed sites, determine the needs of the schools and the students in the community, identify facilities that should be provided in order to ensure the greatest impact, and to measure the extent and reach of the project.
After inspecting two proposed sites, they determined that the unused Bomaa Community Library would be ideal since it was located in the center of town, was close to 10 schools, it was owned by the community and the building would require minimal renovation.
Once completed, the Center would house 2 EDULab Rooms with 24 stations in each, 1 Makerspace with robotics, 3D printer, and VR, 1 Conference Room, and 1 Center Manager’s office. To supplement the 2 bathrooms inside the building the community would construct a building that would accommodate 2 additional bathrooms.  Additionally, a bore hole would be dug to provide an independent source of water.
On October 27th, 2021, the Lab was officially dedicated at a ceremony that featured the Promoter, Nana Kofi Anane Amponsa Ex-Asantehene, Dr. Deborah Rose, the President of the Helping Africa Foundation, Mr. Japhet Aryiku, Executive Director of the Helping Africa Foundation, Mr. Kafui Prebbie, CEO of IMPLEMENTERS and TECHAiDE, the Municipal Education Director for Tano North, Madam Veronica Adu-Saforo and many of the local leaders.
The occasion was also attended by the press and this linked article appeared shortly afterwards.
