The Honorable Elizabeth Ofusu-Adjare was so pleased with Lab 10, that she introduced the Helping Africa Foundation to her colleague and fellow member of Parliament, Hon. Kwabena Mintah-Akandoh who asked if HAF could build a Lab in in the Western North Region.  He selected the town of Juaboso as the site of the Lab.

As always, Implementers conducted a needs assessment in March, 2022 and met with Mr. Alexander Quist, the representative for the member of Parliament, Mr. Godfrey K. A. Asante, the Juaboso District Chief Executive, and other members of the District Assembly, and Mr. Sylvester Gyapong, who was representing the District Director of GES.

Due to the unavailability of any feasible existing structure, the Member of Parliament agreed to construct a new building for the Lab.  The community provided 3 possible locations for the site, and after reviewing these the Implementers team chose a location that centrally located within the town and accessible to several schools in the region.  It is a secure location since it is located between the home of the District Chief Executive and the Police Commander’s home.

Honorable Kwabena selected a floor plan from one of the layouts that had been prepared by Implementers. The Lab would consist of 2 28 Seater EduLab rooms, 1 Maker Space with robotics, Virtual Reality, and a 3 D printer,  a conference room for the use of the community, a Center Manager’s office, 8 washrooms, solar panels, a room for the solar batteries  and an independent water source.

The Lab was dedicated on November 9, 2022, in a ceremony that featured the Hon. Kwabena Mintah-Akandoh, Dr. Deborah Rose, President of the Helping Africa Foundation, Japhet Aryiku, Executive Director of the Helping Africa Foundation, Jonathan Wiesner, Deputy Executive Director of the Helping Africa Foundation, Kafui Prebbie, Project Director, Implementers, Mr. Godfrey Asante, Juaboso Chief Executive, and the District Director of GES, Mr. Emmanuel Essuman along with tribal leaders and a number of other dignitaries.
