Once again, the Honorable Elizabeth Ofusu-Adjare facilitated the introduction to the Hon. Vincent Oppong Asamoah, the member of Parliament for the Dormaa District in the Bono Region.  The Honorable Vincent suggested that Lab 12 should be situated in the town of Nkrankwanta.

As always, the implementers team traveled to the region in April, 2022 to conduct a needs assessment.  They met with the Honorable Francis Oppong, the District Chief Executive, the Reverend FR Kinsley D. Asante, the District Director of the GES and their various delegations.

Once again, there were no structures that were appropriate for the Lab, so the Member of Parliament agreed to work with the community to build a new structure to accommodate the Lab.  The community proposed 3 locations, and after reviewing these, Implementers selected a location near the center of town that had a number of schools within the vicinity, and had enough land space for the building.

The Honorable Vincent selected a floor plan from the layouts that had been prepared by Implementers. The new building would consist of 2 28 seater EduLab rooms, a Maker Space for robotics, 3D printing, VR, a conference room for the community to use for meetings and training sessions, a Center Manager’s office, 6 washrooms for the students, including squat toilets and urinals, solar panels, a storeroom for the batteries, and an independent water source.

Lab 12 was dedicated on November 8, 2022, in a ceremony that featured the Hon. Vincent Oppong Asamoah, Dr. Deborah Rose, President of the Helping Africa Foundation, Japhet Aryiku, Executive Director of the Helping Africa Foundation, Jonathan Wiesner, Deputy Executive Director of the Helping Africa Foundation, Kafui Prebbie, Project Director, Implementers, the District Chief Executive Director, the Honorable Francis K. Oppong, the District Director of GES, the Reverend FR Kinsley D. Asante, and numerous other dignitaries and tribal leaders.
