Deborah Rose and her daughter Sarah traveled to Ghana in 2018, and Sarah saw a viral posting about an enterprising young computer teacher, Richard Appiah-Akoto, who, in the absence of actual computers, was drawing and teaching the Microsoft Windows interface on a blackboard.
Both Sarah and Deborah were extraordinarily moved by this enterprising young teacher and his determination to prepare his students for the Ghanaian national exam. Once again TECHAiDE was called in to do a needs assessment, and the result was Lab 3 in the Betenase Junior High School in Ejura Sekyedumase, Ashanti Region of Ghana.

As a result of the viral video, the community had received a donation of 26 laptops from Microsoft that were housed at the Betenase High School. However, the community chose to build a new ICT center and the Helping Africa Foundation in partnership with TECHAiDE installed a 44 seat computer lab and a Maker Space with robotics equipment.

The Center was dedicated on September 21, 2018. Richard was promoted to supervise the new Center.
Today the Center serves 10 schools in the region and is used by the students thousands of times each month.
