Yamoransa Model (YM) Lab 8, located in Bogoso, in the Western Region of Ghana, participated in the ACity Tech Expo 2025, organised by the Academic City University, in Accra. As the winners of the most innovative project at AIRTAD 2025, YM Lab 8’s participation in this year’s ACity Tech Expo was a representation of the entire Yamoransa Model Program at this prestigious event.
YM Lab 8 competed in the Senior High School (SHS) category, alongside renowned schools such as Wesley Girls High School, Opoku Ware SHS, PRESEC Legon, Aburi Girls High School, and Mfantsipim High School. The YM Lab 8 team comprised two dedicated centre managers, Mr. Edward Kwarteng Owusu and Mr. Elvis Kan-Uge, together with two exceptionally talented students, Jamal Salifu (JHS 2) and Karen Obeng (JHS 1), whose combined efforts and innovative spirit were pivotal.

The “NOVOS Technopolis” project was presented to an esteemed panel of judges, which was recognized and adjudged as the most innovative project within the SHS category. YM Lab 8 also achieved an outstanding second place in the overall ranking of all teams that presented in the SHS category.
This remarkable achievement at the ACity TechExpo 2025 event is a testament to the dedication, ingenuity and high standards of learning fostered within the Yamoransa Model Program. It highlights the immense potential of YMlab learners and the effective guidance provided by its centre managers. The success at the TechExpo will further inspire learners and reinforce the importance of fostering innovation and technological prowess from an early age.
The support from the leadership of the Yamoransa Model Lab Program and all constituents of YM Lab 8 fuels the drive of initiatives and achievements such as this. The YM Lab program continues to build its success, while empowering the next generation of innovators and leaders.
