Over the past decade, education has undergone a profound digital revolution. Yet, for many learners in underserved communities, access to technology, modern learning tools and quality digital education has remained out of reach.

Ten years ago, the Helping Africa Foundation (HAF) set out to change that narrative. Through the creation of the Yamoransa Model Labs Program, we embarked on a mission to bridge the digital divide, ignite curiosity and bring world-class STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) education closer to learners in local communities.

Today, we are thrilled to mark a major milestone in this journey: The 10th Anniversary of the Yamoransa Model Labs Program!

A Decade of Transforming Lives and Communities

Guided by our 10th anniversary theme: “A Decade of Impact: Empowering the Next Generation,” we are reflecting on ten years of remarkable growth, progress and resilience.

What started as an ambitious vision to make an impact in the Yamoransa community located in the Central Region of Ghana has grown into a sustainable, community-rooted educational portfolio, reaching 19 locations in sub-Saharan Africa. Today, the YM Labs Program operates in 17 centers in Ghana, 1 in Liberia and 1 in The Gambia. 

By equipping schools with state-of-the-art STEAM labs, reliable technology and experiential learning spaces, the Yamoransa Model has transformed traditional classrooms into hubs of creativity, innovation and problem-solving

Over the last 10 years, the program has:

• Empowered over 100,000 Learners: Providing young minds with hands-on experience in coding, robotics, digital literacy and problem-solving skills.
• Fostered Confidence & Career Readiness: Equipping students with critical 21st-century skills to thrive in an increasingly digital and technology-driven world.
• Strengthened Local Ecosystems: Collaborating closely with community leaders, educators and local stakeholders to ensure long-term sustainability and impact.

Every lab built, every teacher supported and every student empowered represents a step toward sustainable development, youth empowerment and equal opportunity for all.

Looking Ahead: The Next Decade of Digital Transformation

While this 10th anniversary is an occasion to celebrate past achievements, it is also a launchpad for the future. As technology continues to evolve at a rapid pace, our commitment to expanding digital education remains stronger than ever.

In anticipation of our upcoming celebration, we will not only reflect on our collective achievements but also unveil our vision for the next decade of digital transformation—expanding our reach, deepening our impact and continuing to nurture the next generation of African innovators, leaders, and thinkers.
