YM Lab 6 | Needs Assesment

The sixth lab of the Yamoransa Model (YM Lab 6) will be deployed in the Volta Region of Ghana, precisely in Peki Avele. The project has been iniated and some headways have been made despite the challenges posed with the Coronavirus pandemic necessitang lock downs. The IMPLEMENTERS team has carried out three stakeholder consultaons to date. Here are some updates from these consultaons:

  • ●  The key stakeholders of the project: the District Chief Executive, District Education Director, The Parent Teacher Association of Peki Avele EP Primary & JHS (host school) and the board of the Peki Avele Evangelical Presbyterian (EP) Church have been introduced to and gratefully accepted the project.
  • ●  Out of the sites proposed and needs assessment conducted, the Peki Avele Primary & JHS was chosen as the best site to deploy the YM Lab 6. This lab would comprise of a 40-seater EDULab, A Makerspace for robotics and AR/VR education, a conference room and a center manager’s office.
  • ●  The teachers of the 12 inially selected or beneficiary schools in the catchment area, have been introduced to the main components of the project and informed of their responsibilities.
  • ●  Work is currently underway to complete the building that would house the lab. This would be followed by an installation of the lab and an official dedication to signal the end of the project.
